Condition
Some customers may comment on a rattle from the windshield pillar side reveal moldings.
Cause
GM Engineering is attempting to determine the cause of the windshield pillar side reveal molding rattle / noise. As a result, Engineering is asking that the reveal molding be replaced and returned for analysis.
Installation Procedure for New Reveal Molding:
- Place double-sided tape (recommend using 3M™ double-sided tape p/n 063-82 and 3M™ promoter p/n 063-96) under the entire inboard edge where the molding contacts the windshield.
- Clean the windshield where the tape will make contact.
- Install the reveal molding.
The original reveal molding(s) will need to be returned to engineering for analysis. Ship the components and a copy of the completed repair order (front and back) to:
