THIS IS NOT A RECALL -- refer to TSB 04-00-89-053A for more detail on the use of engineering information bulletins.


Condition

Some customers may comment on a rattle from the windshield pillar side reveal moldings.

Cause

GM Engineering is attempting to determine the cause of the windshield pillar side reveal molding rattle / noise. As a result, Engineering is asking that the reveal molding be replaced and returned for analysis.

Installation Procedure for New Reveal Molding:

 

  1. Place double-sided tape (recommend using 3M™ double-sided tape p/n 063-82 and 3M™ promoter p/n 063-96) under the entire inboard edge where the molding contacts the windshield.
  2. Clean the windshield where the tape will make contact.
  3. Install the reveal molding.

The original reveal molding(s) will need to be returned to engineering for analysis. Ship the components and a copy of the completed repair order (front and back) to:
