Midgate Components
The midgate consists of the following components:
• | Midgate control module--Integrated with the window motor is a non class 2 device that controls the operation of the midgate window, latches and defogger. |
• | Body control module--Receives midgate ajar signal from the midgate control module and signals the driver information center (DIC) with the ajar status. |
• | Midgate latch release switches--On the left and right side of the midgate and provides a switched ground signal to the midgate control module for control of the midgate latches. |
• | Left and right midgate latches--Receive a constant ground source and a switched 12 volts from the midgate control module to release the midgate. |
• | Left and right midgate ajar switches--Receive a constant ground source, are wired in series, and signal the midgate control module with midgate ajar status. |
• | Midgate 30A circuit breaker--Constant 12-volt battery source |
• | Accy 10A fuse--Switched ignition 12-volt source |
Midgate Latch Control
Before the midgate latches can be enabled, the midgate window must be in the full down position. The midgate latches are controlled by activating either the left or right midgate latch release switches.
Midgate Latch Operation
When the midgate window is in the full down position and the midgate latch release switch is activated, ground is supplied to the midgate control module. The midgate control module will then provide 12 volts to the midgate latches and release the
midgate.
