Preliminary Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement.
4. Remove auxiliary heater pipe - rear. Refer to Auxiliary Heater Pipe Replacement - Rear.
5. Remove auxiliary evaporator tube - rear. Refer to Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Rear Tube Replacement.
6. Partially drain the engine coolant from the coolant lines at the auxiliary HVAC module. Drain the heater core and plug lines/tubes to prevent loss of coolant.
7. Lower the vehicle and remove the body side trim panel - right side. Refer to Body Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side.
8. Disconnect wiring connector and ground(s) from HVAC module.
9. Disconnect the auxiliary air distributor ducts. Refer to Auxiliary Air Distributor Lower Duct Replacement and Auxiliary Air Distributor Duct Replacement - Upper.

Tip
Ensure the HVAC module seal is secure upon installation.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)
