Low or Poor Mic Audio - keywords blue button microphone onstar no opc performance poor

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Some Hummer H3 customers may report a low or poor mic audio while in a blue button, emergency button, OPC and/or virtual advisor call. The microphone in the headliner was installed incorrectly. It may be turned up to 120 degrees in either clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.

Remove the microphone and cover located above the driver's seat and correct the orientation of the cover so the opening points towards the driver for optimal performance. If the concern is still present, follow eSI Document ID# 1393810 for further assistance.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
