The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some Hummer customers may report that they are unable to activate their OnStar system. A small number of H3 vehicles, which have recently been delivered to dealers may have the incorrect software in the OnStar VCIM. Starting June 13, 2005 vehicles within the VIN range of 68100785 to 68101075 plus one separate VIN 68102580 will be able to reprogram the OnStar VCIM with TIS version Data # 6.5.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Program the new OnStar VCIM software utilizing TIS and Tech 2.
Select "OnStar Activation" from the "Supported Controllers" list and as always follow all programming instructions.
Note: Please remember this calibration is for specific cases/complaints involving "On Star" activation.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
