This bulletin is being issued to revise the Condenser Replacement procedure in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning sub-section of the Service Manual. Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Evacuate the air conditioning (A/C) system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the evaporator tube from the condenser. Refer to Evaporator Tube Replacement.
  3. Remove the discharge hose from the condenser. Refer to Discharge Hose Replacement.
  4. Remove the fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement.

Radiator Support Bracket Bolt

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Condenser Assembly Stud

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Condenser Assembly Bolt

Tighten
28 N·m (21 lb ft)

Tip
Tilt the radiator assembly toward the rear of the vehicle to access the right condenser bolt.

Condenser Assembly - A/C

Tip
Tilt the radiator toward the rear of the vehicle to remove the condenser.
