Some customers may comment on the "Service 4WD" and "Traction Off" messages being displayed. Also, the Traction Off light will be illuminated and the transfer case selector switch will be inoperative. Upon investigation, the technician will find DTCs C0327 and C0276 set.
This can be a very intermittent condition and may reset itself with subsequent key cycles.
The cause of this condition may be from the encoder sensor within the transfer case actuator that has malfunctioned.

Inspect the transfer case wiring, grounds and replace the actuator, if necessary. | DO NOT replace the actuator without FIRST inspecting wiring and grounds. DO NOT replace the TCCM, transfer case or IP selector switch. |
Inspect all transfer case wiring, power, grounds and connectors per current SI documentation. Look for chaffed wiring, backed out pins, unseated connectors and water intrusion. Inspect the module ground for cleanliness and tightness. If the wiring checks out to be good, proceed to Correction #2 below.
