Service VME - Wind Noise From Roof Mounted Marker Lamp Package - keywords accessories accessory light

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

In July 2006, a quarantine request was made for all inventory of the H3 Accessories Roof-Mounted Marker Lamp Package (P/N 19156090, P/N 17803066, P/N 12499109). Reference Administrative Message VSE20060274.

A "revised" Lamp Package Repair Kit (P/N 19166037) has been released to eliminate the potential for a wind noise condition when Roof-Mounted Marker Lamp Packages are installed. This kit includes two (2) lamp housing wedges, adhesive, a mounting template, and an install sheet.

Please order one (1) Lamp Package Repair Kit for each Roof-Mounted Marker Lamp Package currently in inventory. Upon receipt, the associated Roof-Mounted Marker Lamp Packages can be removed from quarantine and installed using the supplemental Lamp Package Repair Kits.

Further, HUMMER Dealers can also use Lamp Package Repair Kits to resolve wind noise issues on customer vehicles (as a warranty repair) in which a Roof-Mounted Marker Lamp Package has already been installed. Proper measuring and installation procedures are called-out in the install sheet that accompanies each Lamp Package Repair Kit. A Service Bulletin will also be issued to reflect these procedures.

Finally, the Roof-Mounted Marker Lamp Package is now available under P/N 19170450 - which includes components from the Lamp Package Repair Kit.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
