Power Brake Booster Pump Fluid Accumulator Replacement without RPO BRM

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Apply and release the brake pedal 20 times to deplete the hydraulic brake booster accumulator reserve.

Power Brake Booster Accumulator

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

Discard the accumulator properly by cutting the accumulator in half and draining the brake fluid. Refer to Power Brake Booster Pump Fluid Accumulator Disposal.

Tighten
55 N·m (41 lb ft)

Power Brake Booster Pump Fluid Accumulator Seal

Procedure

Lubricate the seal with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container.
