1. Turn Signal Lamps and/or Indicators Malfunction 2. Turn Signal Switch Malfunction |
Ground is applied at all times at G106 to the turn signal/multifunction switch. The turn signal lamps may only be activated with the ignition switch in the ON or START position. The BCM applies a pulsating voltage to the front and rear turn signal lamps through there respective voltage supply circuits. When a turn signal request is received by the BCM, a serial data message is sent to the instrument panel cluster (IPC) requesting the respective turn signal indicator be pulsed ON and OFF.
Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.
When the BCM receives a left turn signal command and the left turn signal indicator supply voltage circuit is open, shorted to ground, or shorted to voltage
The left turn signal indicator in the IPC will not operate or will remain always on.
• | This DTC will clear on current status after the condition for setting the fault is corrected. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present. |

Ignition ON, operate the left turn signal and verify that the left turn indicator flashes.
⇒ | If the left turn indicator does not illuminate, or remains illuminated, perform the Left Turn Indicator Malfunction. |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
