When the body control module (BCM) receives a left turn signal ON command from the turn signal switch, the BCM will apply voltage to the left rear stop/turn lamp control circuit and left turn signal lamps control circuit. The turn signal flasher is integrated within the BCM and will flash both circuits simultaneously.
Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.
When the BCM receives a left turn signal command and the left front or rear turn lamp control circuit is shorted to ground.
When the BCM receives a left turn signal command and the left front or rear turn lamp control circuit is shorted to voltage.
When the BCM receives a left turn signal command and the left front or rear turn lamp control circuit is open.
The left front and/or left rear turn signals will not operate or will remain always on.
• | This DTC will clear on current status after the condition for setting the fault is corrected. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present. |

Ignition ON, operate the left turn signal and verify that the left front and rear turn signals flash.
⇒ | If the left turn indicator does not illuminate or remains illuminated perform the Left Turn Signal Circuit Test. |
• | Front terminal C |
• | Rear terminal G |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
• | Front terminal C |
• | Rear terminal G |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
