Scan Tool Output Control

Description

Coolant Gauge Sweep Test

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) drives the coolant gauge at or below minimum for a few seconds when you select ON, then drives the gauge at or above maximum for a few seconds. The test will end after one cycle of the gauge sweep.

Fuel Gauge Sweep Test

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) drives the fuel gauge at or below minimum for a few seconds when you select ON, then drives the gauge at or above maximum for a few seconds. The test will end after one cycle of the gauge sweep.

Lamp Test

The IPC illuminates all the indicators when you select On. The indicators should remain illuminated until commanded Off.

PRNDL Display

An underscore illuminates under each indicator in the PRNDL display until commanded Off.

Speed Gauge Sweep Test

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) drives the speedometer at or below minimum for a few seconds when you select ON, then drives the gauge at or above maximum for a few seconds. The test will end after one cycle of the gauge sweep.

Tach Gauge Sweep Test

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) drives the tachometer at or below minimum for a few seconds when you select ON, then drives the gauge at or above maximum for a few seconds. The test will end after one cycle of the gauge sweep.
