with Rear Vision Camera (RPO UVC) |
Some customers may report that the rear vision camera is inoperative. The rear vision camera is turned on (enabled) before the vehicles leave the assembly plant, but there may be situations when the camera may have been inadvertently turned off by dealership personnel during Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) or by the customer. The rear vision camera on/off button is the same button that is used for other functions of the mirror.
If you encounter a vehicle that has an inoperative rear vision camera, make sure that the camera was on (enabled) prior to replacing the mirror assembly. To enable the rear vision camera, press and hold the compass button (left hand button shown below) for three seconds. The lower green LED will illuminate indicating that the function is enabled. If the lower LED is not illuminated, the camera is disabled.
The Warranty Parts Center (WPC) has found that several of the mirrors replaced for inoperative camera were returned with the function turned off and there were no problems found with the rear vision camera.
