The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

As of 5/8/2008 the Body Control Module (BCM) Part Number 25816709 will be placed on restriction through the PQC as part of our ongoing quality improvement efforts to assist Engineering with product concern identification. Your cooperation with this program is greatly appreciated.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If diagnosis has led to replacement of the BCM please contact the PQC @ 866-654-7654 to discuss the information/diagnostics that led to the replacement of the BCM. Please complete the questionnaire below before calling the PQC.

BCM Parts Restriction Questionnaire

  1. Is this an H3 vehicle?
  2. If YES, then release part using order information below. No need to contact PQE's.

    If NO, proceed with template questions below.

  3. Does the customer complaint refer to operation of Remote Keyless function
  4. If yes, than has tech followed document PIT4459C? If no, then follow the document and call back if necessary.

  5. Does the customer complaint refers to dead battery?
  6. If yes, has tech followed document 08-08-44-012? If no, then follow the document and call back if necessary.

  7. Does the customer complaint refers to occasional unintentional wiper swipe?
  8. If yes, has tech followed document 08-08-43-007? If no, then follow the document and call back if necessary.

  9. SI Document ID# Used:
  10. Document each step of the trouble chart. (Include all DVM readings/comments: Tech should be using a voltmeter instead of a test lamp for all readings in Circuit system testing)

  11. What PIs / TSBs were performed? (List all)
  12. Have the BCM antenna connectors been checked for "Not Fully seated"? Y/N (If no, check.)
  13. Have the BCM antenna connectors been checked for "Not Fully seated"? Y/N (If no, check.)

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
