Makes 🢒 HUMMER 🢒 2009 🢒 H3 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls and Fuel - 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, or 7.0L 🢒 Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1560098 Size: SH
  1. Partially drain the fuel tank below the level of the fuel fill tube. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle, high enough to access the fuel fill hose through the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining.
  3. Remove the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement.
  4. Remove the left rear wheelhouse flare. Refer to Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement.
  5. Remove the bolt securing the fuel fill hose ground strap to the frame.

  6. Disconnect the fuel fill pipe vent line quick connect (1) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    7. Object Number: 1560072 Size: SH
  7. Loosen the fuel fill pipe clamp (3).
  8. Remove the fuel fill hose from the fuel tank.
  9. Disconnect the fuel tank vent line (5) from the fuel fill pipe vent line (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

  10. Remove the fuel fill pipe bracket nuts.
  11. Remove the fuel fill pipe from the vehicle.
  12. Cap the open end of the fuel tank.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1560101 Size: SH
  1. Remove the cap from the fuel tank.
  2. Install the fuel fill pipe bracket to the studs on the fender.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the fuel fill pipe nuts and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    4. Object Number: 1560072 Size: SH
  4. Install the fuel fill hose to the fuel tank. Align the orientation notch (2) on the fuel fill hose to the tab (4) on the fuel tank.
  5. Tighten the fuel fill hose clamp and tighten to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
  6. Connect the fuel tank vent line (5) to the fuel fill pipe vent line (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    7. Object Number: 1560077 Size: SH
  7. Connect the fuel fill pipe vent line quick connect (1) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    8. Object Number: 1560098 Size: SH
  8. Install the bolt securing the fuel fill hose ground strap to the frame and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  9. Install the left rear wheelhouse flare. Refer to Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement.
  10. Install the left rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Refill the fuel tank.
  13. Install the fuel fill cap.
  14. Inspect for leaks.
