Preliminary Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the front propeller shaft. Refer to Front Propeller Shaft Replacement.

Special Tools

Nut, Drive Flange Retaining (Qty: 1)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tip
Using the J 8614-01 , remove the retaining nut.

Tighten
319 N·m (235 lb ft)

Washer, Drive Flange (Qty: 1)

Seal, Drive Flange Washer (Qty: 1)

Seal, Front Output Shaft

Tip

1. Using the appropriate tool, remove the seal.
2. Using the J 42738 , install the Front Output Shaft Seal Installer.
