DTC Descriptor

DTC C0131 00: ABS/TCS Pressure Circuit.

DTC C0550: Electronic Control Unit (ECU) Performance.

DTC C0551 45: Option Configuration Error/Variant not programmed.

DTC C0551 47: Option Configuration Error/VIN not programmed.

Circuit/System Description

The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) detects an internal malfunction.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

DTC C0131 00: EBCM detects a fault in the hydraulic modulator pressure sensor signal voltage output.

DTC C0550: The electronic brake control module (EBCM) detects an internal malfunction.

DTC C0551 45: The incorrect EBCM is installed on the vehicle.

DTC C0551 47: The incorrect software or calibrations have been flash programmed into the EBCM.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • The EBCM disables the ABS-TCS/ESP for the duration of the ignition cycle.
    • One or all of the following warning indicators may activate:
       - ABS-TCS warning indicator
       - ABS-TCS warning display
       - ESP warning indicator
       - Red Brake Warning indicator
       - Trac-off warning display

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The EBCM automatically clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify that DTC C0551 is not set.
  2. If DTC C0551 is set, verify that the EBCM is the correct module for the vehicle and program the EBCM. If the DTC resets, replace the EBCM
  3. If DTC C0550 or C0131 are set, Replace the EBCM.
