Special Tools

1. Lubricate the valve stems with engine oil.
2. Carefully install the valves in their original positions.
3. Install the valve stem oil seal.



4. Install the valve spring.
5. Install the valve spring seat.
6. Install the valve.
7. Install the valve spring retainer.
8. Compress the valve spring with the 0991614510 (1) and the EN-48247  (2).
9. Install the valve key.
10. Remove the 09916510 (1) and the EN-48247  (2).



11. Install the valve lash adjuster.
12. Install the valve bridges.
13. Install the valve roller finger followers.



14. Lubricate the camshaft surface with the clean engine oil.
15. Install the camshaft.



16. Coat the sealant (LOCTITE 573) on the camshaft front/rear cap sealing surface.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




17. Install the camshaft caps and bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the camshaft cap bolt to 28 N·m (20.7 lb ft).





Important: When installing the camshaft front oil seal to the oil pump, make the oil seal groove faced toward the oil pump case contact.

18. Install a new camshaft front seal ring using by EN-48252 .



19. Install the camshaft sprocket.

Tighten
Tighten the camshaft sprocket bolt to 133 N·m (98.1 lb ft).




20. Install the vacuum pump.



21. Install the exhaust manifold.



22. Install the intake manifold.
