Special Tools

    • KM-470-B Angular Torque Gage
    • EN-48249 Piston Ring Compressor

    Object Number: 2003021 Size: SH

    Important: When settle the connecting rod cap bearings on the original position, put the bearings connecting rod grooves.

  1. Install the connecting rod cap bearings to the connecting rod.

    2. Object Number: 2003022 Size: SH
  2. Install the connecting rod to the piston.
  3. Install the piston pin and snap rings.

    4. Object Number: 2003015 Size: SH
  4. Using a piston ring expander, install the piston rings to the piston.

    5. Object Number: 1822663 Size: SH

    Important: Check and confirm the piston assemblies are installed in the correct position.

  5. Lubricate the piston rings, cylinder bore surface and EN-48249 inner surface with the clean engine oil.
  6. Insert the piston assembly in the cylinder using EN-48249 .
  7. Install the piston assemblies.

    8. Object Number: 1822652 Size: SH
  8. Lubricate the crankshaft that contacts the connecting rod with clean engine oil.

    9. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Install the connecting rod caps and bolts.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the connecting rod cap bolts to 25 N·m (18.4 lb ft). Using KM-470-B , tighten the connecting rod cap bolts another 90 degrees.

  10. Assemble the engine block. Refer to Engine Block Assemble.
