Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1764627 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Disconnect the brake line from the brake hose support bracket on the wheel housing on each side of the vehicle.
  3. Remove the retainer.
  4. Remove the brake hose from the wheel housing bracket.

  5. Remove the brake hose from the clip.

    6. Object Number: 1764631 Size: SH
  6. Remove the brake hose from the brake caliper.
  7. Remove the brake hose from the retainers and retaining bracket from the strut.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1764631 Size: SH
  1. Install the new brake hose to the caliper with the new seal rings and the bolt.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the front brake hose-to-caliper bolt to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  2. Install the brake hose and clip to the retaining bracket. Connect the brake hose to brake pipe line.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the brake line fittings to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake hose to the clips.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  6. Check the brake system for leaks.
