Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1764652  Size: SH
  1. Remove the brake fluid reservoir-to-master cylinder pins and remove the reservoir from the master cylinder.
  2. Remove the brake pipe fittings from the master cylinder.
  3. Plug the brake pipe openings and the brake fluid reservoir to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  4. Object Number: 1764653  Size: SH
  5. Remove the master cylinder-to-brake booster nuts.
  6. Remove the master cylinder and drain the brake fluid.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1764653  Size: SH
  1. Install the master cylinder to the brake booster.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the master cylinder mounting nuts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  3. Unplug all the openings.

  4. Object Number: 1764652  Size: SH
  5. Install the brake pipe fittings to the master cylinder.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install the brake pipe fluid reservoir-to-master cylinder pins.
  8. Add the brake fluid.
  9. Check for leaks.
  10. Recheck the fluid level.
  11. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
