EN-46109 Engine Front Cover Installation Guide Pins

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1801621  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine assembly. Refer to Engine Replacement.
  2. Remove the flexplate assembly. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement.
  3. Remove the engine oil pan assembly. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
  4. Remove the 5 bolts (1) attaching the crankshaft rear seal housing to the rear of the cylinder block (2).

  5. Object Number: 1801624  Size: SH
  6. Shear the RTV sealant using the pry points located at the edge of the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.

  7. Object Number: 1801626  Size: SH
  8. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1) from the cylinder block (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1801629  Size: SH
  1. Install the guide pins, EN-46109 pins  (1) into the two crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolt holes of the cylinder block (2).

  2. Object Number: 1801635  Size: SH
  3. Apply a 3 mm bead (1) of RTV sealant to the crank shaft rear oil seal housing.

  4. Object Number: 1801626  Size: SH

    Note: Do not allow any engine oil onto the cylinder block mating surface, where the crankshaft rear oil seal housing is to be installed.

  5. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1) to the cylinder block (2).
  6. Note: A seal protector is provided with the new crankshaft rear seal and housing assembly. Do not remove the seal protector from the crankshaft rear oil seal housing until the crankshaft rear oil seal housing is fully in position.

  7. Remove the guide pins from the cylinder block.
  8. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1801621  Size: SH
  9. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal housing attaching bolts (1) to the cylinder block (2) and tighten attaching bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  10. Install the oil pan assembly. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
  11. Install the flexplate assembly. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement.
  12. Install the engine assembly. Refer to Engine Replacement.
