Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  3. Remove the wheel bearing/hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement.

  4. Object Number: 1768901  Size: SH
  5. Remove the upper control arm to knuckle bolt and nut.

  6. Object Number: 1768905  Size: SH
  7. Remove the lower control arm to knuckle bolt and nut.

  8. Object Number: 1768908  Size: SH
  9. Remove the toe link to knuckle bolt and nut.

  10. Object Number: 1768911  Size: SH
  11. Remove the trailing arm to knuckle bolts.
  12. Remove the knuckle from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1768905  Size: SH
  1. Install the knuckle to the lower control arm.
  2. Note: Do not tighten the bolt or the nut yet.

  3. Loosely install the bolt and the nut.

  4. Object Number: 1768901  Size: SH
  5. Install the knuckle to the upper control arm.
  6. Note: Do not tighten the bolt or the nut yet.

  7. Loosely install the bolt and the nut.

  8. Object Number: 1768908  Size: SH
  9. Install the knuckle to the toe link.
  10. Note: Do not tighten the bolt or the nut yet.

  11. Loosely install the bolt and the nut.
  12. Install the knuckle to trailing arm.
  13. Note: Do not tighten the bolt or the nut yet.

  14. Loosely install the bolt and the nut.
  15. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  16. Tighten the bolts and nuts in the following sequence.
  17. • The knuckle to lower control arm bolt and nut to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).
    • The knuckle to upper control arm bolt and nut to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).
    • The knuckle to toe link bolt and nut to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).
    • The knuckle to trailing arm bolts to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).
  18. Install the wheel bearing/hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement.
  19. Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  20. Lower the vehicle.
  21. Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement.
