Makes 🢒 Holden 🢒 2009 🢒 Captiva 🢒 Body Repair 🢒 Bolted Exterior Body Panels and Closures 🢒 Liftgate Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the liftgate window upper garnish molding. Refer to Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement.

    2. Object Number: 1758244 Size: SH
  2. Open the liftgate and support.
  3. Disconnect the liftgate wiring connectors.
  4. Disconnect the rear washer hose.
  5. Pull the liftgate wiring grommet, the connectors, and the rear washer hose out of the rear header.
  6. Remove the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement.
  7. Mark the location of the liftgate hinges to the body with a grease pencil.
  8. Remove the liftgate hinge attachment bolts.
  9. With the aid of an assistant, remove the liftgate from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1758244 Size: SH

    Note: New hinge to body nuts must be used to ensure a proper seal.

  1. With the aid of an assistant, position the liftgate hinges to the marked location points on the body.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the liftgate hinge attachment bolts and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb in).
  3. Verify the alignment of the liftgate. Adjust as necessary.
  4. Install the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement.
  5. Install the liftgate wiring grommet, the connectors, and the hose into the rear header.
  6. Connect the liftgate wiring connectors.
  7. Connect the rear washer hose.
  8. Install the liftgate window upper garnish molding. Refer to Liftgate Garnish Molding Replacement.
