Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging

  3. Object Number: 1760762  Size: SH
  4. Remove the evaporator outlet hose nut from the compressor hose.

  5. Object Number: 1760763  Size: SH
  6. Remove the evaporator outlet hose nut from the thermal expansion valve.
  7. Remove the evaporator outlet hose.
  8. Remove and discard the seal washer. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement
  9. Cap the opening to prevent contamination.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1760763  Size: SH
  1. Install new seal washers to the evaporator outlet hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement
  2. Position the evaporator outlet hose in the vehicle.
  3. Install the evaporator outlet hose to the thermal expansion valve.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the evaporator outlet hose nut and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  6. Object Number: 1760762  Size: SH
  7. Install the evaporator outlet hose to the compressor hose.
  8. Install the evaporator outlet hose nut and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  10. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
