Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1760755  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
  3. Remove the compressor hose nut from the compressor.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector at the pressure transducer.

  5. Object Number: 1760756  Size: SH
  6. Remove liquid line bolt from the condenser.
  7. Remove the liquid line from the condenser.
  8. Remove the compressor hose bolt from the condenser.
  9. Remove the compressor hose from the condenser.

  10. Object Number: 1760762  Size: SH
  11. Remove the evaporator outlet hose nut from the compressor hose.
  12. Remove the evaporator outlet hose from the compressor hose.
  13. Remove the compressor hose bracket bolt from the vehicle.
  14. Remove the compressor hose from the vehicle.
  15. Remove and discard the seal washer. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement
  16. Cap all of the opening to prevent contamination.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1760762  Size: SH
  1. Install new seal washers to the compressor hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement
  2. Position the compressor hose into the vehicle.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the compressor hose bracket bolt to the vehicle and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Object Number: 1760756  Size: SH
  6. Install the compressor hose bolt to the condenser and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  7. Install the liquid line to the condenser.
  8. Install the liquid line bolt to the condenser and tighten to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  9. Object Number: 1760755  Size: SH
  10. Install the compressor hose to the compressor.
  11. Install the compressor hose nut to the compressor and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  12. Connect the electrical connector to the pressure transducer.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
  14. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
