Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement C100/Long Body

Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1784886  Size: SH

    Note: The left-hand drive is shown. The right-hand drive is similar.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Remove the instrument panel accessory bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement.
  3. Remove the four controller retaining screws.
  4. Pull out the unit to gain access to rear.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the control assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1784886  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the sockets on the back of the controller.
  2. Gently insert the controller into position on the center console.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the retaining screws and tighten to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  6. Confirm the proper operation of the controller by moving it through all of the controller's possible functioning positions.
  7. Install the instrument panel accessory bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement.

Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement C105/Short Body

Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

    Note: The left-hand drive is shown. The right-hand drive is similar.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the instrument panel accessory bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement.
  3. Remove the four control assembly retaining screws.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the manual temperature control assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1836928  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the sockets on the back of the controller.
  2. Carefully insert the controller into position on the center console.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the retaining screws and tighten to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  6. Confirm the proper operation of the controller by moving it through all of the controller's possible functioning positions.
  7. Install the instrument panel accessory bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Bezel Replacement.
