Tools Required

DW-110-060 Engine Assembly Support Fixture

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
2. Remove the engine cover, the air cleaner duct, and the air cleaner housing assembly.
3. Disconnect the backup lamp switch electrical wiring connector.
4. Disconnect the speedometer driven gear electrical wiring connector.



5. Remove the shift control cables (1) from the transaxle using a suitable tool.
6. Remove the cables (2) from the shift control cable bracket.



7. Remove the clutch release cylinder bracket bolts and the clutch release cylinder bracket.



8. Remove the 3 upper transaxle retaining bolts.



9. Install the DW-110-060 .
10. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
11. Remove the engine under cover, if equipped.



12. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement .



13. Remove the center member. Refer to Front Suspension Support Brace Replacement .



14. Remove the 3 rear transaxle mounting bracket bolts and bracket.



15. Remove the 3 front damper bush bracket bolts and bracket.
16. Remove the front suspension impact left beam. Refer to I-Beam Suspension Replacement .
17. Remove the drive axle shafts. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .



18. Support the transaxle assembly using the supporting jack.



19. Remove the 7 lower transaxle retaining bolts.



20. Remove the 4 left upper transaxle mounting bracket bolts.



21. Carefully remove the transaxle assembly from the vehicle.

1. Install the transaxle into the vehicle and support the transaxle assembly using the supporting jack.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




2. Install the 4 left upper transaxle mounting bracket bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the left upper transaxle mounting bracket bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).




3. Install the 7 lower transaxle retaining bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the lower transaxle retaining bolts to 27-35 N·m (20-26 lb ft).

4. Remove the transaxle support jack.
5. Install the drive axle shafts. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .
6. Install the front suspension impact left beam. Refer to I-Beam Suspension Replacement .



7. Install the front damper bush bracket and the 3 bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the front damper bush bracket bolts to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).




8. Install the rear transaxle mounting bracket and the 3 bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the rear transaxle mounting bracket bolts to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).




9. Install the center member. Refer to Front Suspension Support Brace Replacement .



10. Install the front exhaust pipe. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement .
11. Install the engine under cover, if equipped.
12. Lower the vehicle.
13. Remove the DW-110-060 from the engine.



14. Install the 3 upper transaxle retaining bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the upper transaxle retaining bolts to 60-85 N·m (44-63 lb ft).




15. Install the clutch release cylinder bracket and the clutch release cylinder bracket bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the clutch release cylinder bracket bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).




16. Install the shift control cables (2) to the shift control cable bracket.
17. Install the shift control cables (1) to the transaxle.



18. Connect the speedometer driven gear electrical wiring connector.
19. Connect the backup lamp switch electrical wiring connector.
20. Install the engine cover, the air cleaner duct, and the air cleaner housing assembly.
21. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
22. Execute the air bleeding. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding .
23. Adjust the shift control cable. Refer to Shift Linkage Adjustment .
24. Inspect the fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Level Inspection .
