Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1255836 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the upper and the lower steering column cover panel by removing the screws.

    3. Object Number: 1255845 Size: SH
  3. Remove the audio system trim plate and audio to allow enough working space for the removal of instrument cluster trim panel screws. Refer to Radio Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1255846 Size: SH
  4. Remove the instrument panel under cover. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Replacement - Side .
  5. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
  6. Remove the instrument cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

  7. Remove the steering column jacket assembly securing bolts and nuts.

    8. Object Number: 1255848 Size: SH
  8. Set the ignition key to ACC position.
  9. Remove the key cylinder by pushing the disassemble button and pulling out the key, at the same time.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1255848 Size: SH
  1. Set the ignition key to the ACC position.
  2. Install the key cylinder by pushing it into the key cylinder housing.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the steering column jacket assembly securing bolts and nuts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the steering column jacket assembly securing bolts and nuts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  4. Install the instrument cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  5. Install the instrument panel under cover. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Replacement - Side .
  6. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 1255845 Size: SH
  7. Install the audio system trim plate. Refer to Radio Replacement .

    8. Object Number: 1255836 Size: SH
  8. Install the upper and the lower steering column cover panel.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the upper and the lower steering column cover panel screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
