Circuit/System Description
The transmission fluid temperature (TFT) sensor is located inside of the transmission control solenoid (w/body and TCM) valve assembly. The control solenoid (w/body and TCM) valve assembly has no serviceable parts. The TFT sensor provides transmission
fluid temperature to the TCM. This fault is handled inside the TCM and no external circuits are involved.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTCs P0711, P0712, and P0713 are Type C DTCs.
Diagnostics Aids
• | DTC P0711 detects a stuck TFT Sensor. |

Circuit/System Verification
- Engine ON, verify the scan tool TCM Power Up Temperature parameter is between -254 and +254°C (-425 and +489°F).
⇒ | If not within the specified range, replace the control solenoid (w/body and TCM) valve assembly. |
- Operate the vehicle at 64 km/h (40 mph) for at least 300 seconds while observing the TCM power up temperature sensor and the TCM temperature sensor. Verify that the transmission fluid temperature is within 10°C (18°F)
of the TCM temperature sensor.
⇒ | If not within the specified range, replace the control solenoid (w/body and TCM) valve assembly. |
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
