Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1255584 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the coolant to a level below the coolant temperature sensor.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the coolant temperature sensor.
  4. Remove the temperature sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1255586 Size: SH
  1. Install the coolant temperature sensor into the threaded hole in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve mounting adapter and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the coolant temperature sensor.
  3. Refill the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
