Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine under cover.
- Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the engine oil.
- Remove the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts.
- Remove the front engine mount bracket-to-damper bush bolt.
- Remove the center front suspension member bolts.
- Remove the oil pan retaining bolts and the oil pan.
Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.
Installation Procedure
- Clean the remaining gasket material and oil from the oil pan.
- Apply new liquid gasket Loctite® 5900-M8585 on the oil pan.
- Clean any gasket material and oil on the engine mounting surface.
- Install the oil pan and bolts. Tighten the oil pan retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the center front suspension member and bolts. Tighten the center front suspension member bolts to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).
- Install the front engine mount bracket-to-damper bush bolt and tighten to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).
- Install the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts and tighten to 31 N·m (23 lb ft).
- Discard the used oil pan drain plug washer and replace it with a new one.
- Discard the used oil pan drain plug washer and replace it with a new one.
- Install the oil pan drain plug and tighten to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Refill the engine with engine oil.
- Install the engine under cover and tighten the retaining bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
- Connect the negative battery cable.
