    • EN-48252 Crankshaft Oil Seal Installer

Assembly Procedure


    Object Number: 1822637 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the valve stems with engine oil.
  2. Carefully install the valves in their original positions.
  3. Install the valve stem oil seal.

    4. Object Number: 1822633 Size: SH
  4. Install the valve spring.
  5. Install the valve spring seat.
  6. Install the valve.
  7. Install the valve spring retainer.
  8. Compress the valve springs with the EN 47518  (1) and the EN-48247  (2).
  9. Install the valve key.
  10. Remove the EN 47518  (1) and the EN-48247  (2).

    11. Object Number: 1822632 Size: SH
  11. Install the valve lash adjusters.
  12. Install the valve bridges.
  13. Install the valve roller finger-followers.

    14. Object Number: 1822640 Size: SH
  14. Coat the sealant (LOCTITE 573) on the camshaft front/rear cap sealing surface.

    15. Object Number: 1822630 Size: SH
  15. Install the camshaft.

    16. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  16. Install the camshaft cap and tighten the bolts to 28 N·m (20.7 lb ft).

    17. Object Number: 1822643 Size: SH

    Note: If the camshaft front oil seal is damaged, replace it with new oil seal. When installing the camshaft front oil seal to the oil pump, make the oil seal groove faced toward the oil pump case contact.

  17. Install the camshaft front seal ring using by EN-48252  (1).

    18. Object Number: 1822645 Size: SH
  18. Install the camshaft sprocket and tighten the bolt to 133 N·m (98.1 lb ft).
