The washer switch provides battery power to the washer pump motor. The Intelligent Switching Unit (ISU) monitors the status of the washer switch.
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC 022 Front Washer Request Signal Circuit
• | Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts. |
• | The washer switch is active. |
The ISU detects an open or short to ground.
The washer pump will be inoperative.
• | The ISU no longer detects an open or short to ground on the washer pump circuit. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present. |
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
This step tests the inactive state of the washer switch.
This step tests the active state of the washer switch.
After replacement of the ISU, the ISU must be reprogrammed.
