Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1256911 Size: SH
  1. Open the luggage compartment.
  2. Remove the luggage compartment wheelhouse trim panels and the luggage compartment rear trim panel. Refer to Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement.
  3. Disconnect the cable from the fuel filler door.

    4. Object Number: 1256630 Size: SH
  4. Remove the lower center pillar seat belt bolt and the anchor.

    5. Object Number: 1256914 Size: SH
  5. Remove the screw and the fuel filler door remote cable handle cover.
  6. Remove the screws and the fuel filler door remote cable handle.
  7. Disconnect the cable from the handle.
  8. Remove the driver side seat and the rear seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket and Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement.
  9. Remove the left side front and rear rocker panels, the left side kick panel, and the left side lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
  10. Reposition the floor carpet on the left side of the vehicle.
  11. Remove the cable.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1256914 Size: SH
  1. Feed the cable from the luggage compartment to the passenger compartment.
  2. Install the floor carpet to its original position.
  3. Install the left side front and rear rocker panels, the left side kick panel, and the left side lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
  4. Install the driver side seat and the rear seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket and Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement.
  5. Connect the cable to the handle.

    6. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Install the fuel filler door remote cable handle with the screws and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  7. Install the fuel filler door remote cable handle cover with the screw and tighten to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

    8. Object Number: 1256630 Size: SH
  8. Install the lower center pillar seat belt anchor with the bolt and tighten to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).

    9. Object Number: 1256911 Size: SH
  9. Connect the cable to the fuel filler door.
  10. Install the luggage compartment wheelhouse trim panels and the luggage compartment rear trim panel. Refer to Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement.
  11. Close the luggage compartment.
