Removal Procedure
Warning: Do not move the vehicle until a firm brake pedal is obtained. Failure to obtain a firm pedal before moving vehicle may result in personal injury.
- Remove the caliper. Refer to
Front Brake Caliper Replacement.
- Remove the brake shoes.
- Remove the caliper mounting bracket.
- Remove the rotor detent screw.
- Remove the rotor.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Note: To guarantee uniform braking, always refinish both rotors even if only one rotor is defective.
- Install the rotor on the front wheel hub and install the detent screw and tighten to
4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Apply a few drops of thread-locking compound to the caliper bracket mounting bolts and install the caliper bracket and tighten to
95 N·m (70 lb ft).
- Install the brake shoes and the caliper. Refer to
Front Brake Caliper Replacement.
