Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1255710  Size: SH

    Warning: Do not move the vehicle until a firm brake pedal is obtained. Failure to obtain a firm pedal before moving vehicle may result in personal injury.

  1. Remove the caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement.
  2. Remove the brake shoes.
  3. Remove the caliper mounting bracket.

  4. Object Number: 1255632  Size: SH
  5. Remove the rotor detent screw.
  6. Remove the rotor.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

    Note:  To guarantee uniform braking, always refinish both rotors even if only one rotor is defective.

  1. Install the rotor on the front wheel hub and install the detent screw and tighten to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  2. Object Number: 1255710  Size: SH
  3. Apply a few drops of thread-locking compound to the caliper bracket mounting bolts and install the caliper bracket and tighten to 95 N·m (70 lb ft).
  4. Install the brake shoes and the caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement.
