Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 2009881 Size: SH
  1. Remove the battery and tray.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the left engine under cover.
  4. Drain the transmission fluid.

  5. Disconnect the control valve body transmission control module (TCM) electrical connector.
  6. Disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the radiator and put them aside.
  7. For 2.0S Diesel ONLY, drain the engine coolant.
  8. For 2.0S Diesel ONLY, disconnect the radiator hoses near the cover for the easy removal of the valve body cover.

  9. Remove the control valve body cover bolts (1).
  10. Remove the control valve body cover (2).

    11. Note: Discard the seal. It is not reusable.

  11. Remove the control valve body cover gasket (3).

    12. Note: Support the control solenoid valve assembly when removing the seal. Excessive pulling force can damage the internal electrical connections.

    Note: Discard the seal. It is not reusable.

  12. Remove the control valve body cover wiring connector hole seal (4).
  13. Remove all traces of the old gasket material. Clean the transmission case and control valve body cover gasket surfaces.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2009915 Size: SH
  1. Install the control valve body cover wiring connector hole seal (4).

    2. Note: Do not re-use the control valve body cover gasket.

  2. Install the control valve body cover gasket (2) to the control valve body cover.
  3. Install the control valve body cover (3).

    4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

    Note: Install all control valve body cover bolts by hand, then torque all bolts in sequence.

  4. Install the control valve body cover bolts (4) and tighten to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  5. Connect the control valve body TCM electrical connector.
  6. Connect the 2 oil cooler hoses.
  7. For 2.0S Diesel ONLY, connect the radiator hoses near the cover.
  8. For 2.0S Diesel ONLY, fill the engine coolant.

  9. Install the left engine under cover.
  10. Install the battery and tray.
  11. Fill the transmission fluid.
  12. Check for leaks.
