Removal Procedure
- Remove the plastic cap to reveal the lower B-pillar seat belt anchor.
- Remove the bolt and the lower B-pillar seat belt anchor.
- Remove the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
- Remove the plastic cap to reveal the upper B-pillar seat belt anchor.
- Remove the screws from the seat belt guide bracket.
- Remove the bolt and the upper B-pillar seat belt anchor.
- Disconnect the pretensioner connector.
- Remove the screws from the seat belt retractor bracket.
- Remove the bolt and the seat belt retractor.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat belt retractor with the bolt and tighten to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).
- Install the seat belt retractor bracket with the screw and tighten to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Connect the pretensioner connector.
- Install the upper B-pillar seat belt anchor with the bolt and tighten to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).
- Install the seat belt anchor plastic cap.
- Install the lower B-pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
- Install the lower B-pillar seat belt anchor with the bolt and tighten to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).
- Install the seat belt anchor plastic cap.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Warning: Replace belts, retractors and hardware in use during all but minor collisions. Also, restraint systems should be replaced and anchorages properly repaired if they were in areas damaged by a collision, whether the belt was in use or not. If there is any question, replace the belt system. Damage to the belt system, whether visible or not, could result in serious personal injury in the event of an accident.
