When the ignition is turned ON, the radio performs a self test to verify if any critical malfunction exists within the system.
This DTC test runs when the radio changes from OFF to ON.
The CD player mechanism does not respond when requested and internal communication attempts time out.
The CD player changer reports that the mechanism is overheating.
• | The radio displays a "CD Error" message temporarily. |
• | The radio will attempt a communication reset with the CD player mechanism, this will be attempted each time there is an infotainment system source change request. |
• | The radio displays a "Mechanism Overheat" message temporarily. |
• | The radio will attempt a communication reset with the CD player mechanism, this will be attempted each time there is an radio source change request. |
• | The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present. |
• | The history DTC will clear after 50 fault-free ignition cycles. |
Extended use the CD player, especially in warm weather conditions, may cause this DTC to set in the radio. Under these conditions, it may be normal for this DTC to set to prevent permanent damage to the radio circuitry and no repair should be attempted.
