Circuit/System Description

The telematics system interfaces with the infotainment unit to allow audio to be transmitted via the vehicle speaker system.

Conditions for Running DTC

    • System voltage is between 9-16 volts.
    • Ignition switch is in the ON position.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The infotainment unit sets a current status for this DTC when a short to ground, short to voltage or an open/high resistance is detected on the speaker channel output from the telematics module.

Action Taken When DTC Sets

    • The telematics module sets a DTC.
    • The telematics module commands the red LED ON.
    • The telematics module disables the audio output to the infotainment unit, producing no sound from the vehicle speakers for the telematics system.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
    • The history DTC will clear after 50 fault-free ignition cycles.
    • The DTC can be cleared using a scan tool.

Circuit/System Verification

Verify customer complaint by adjusting speaker outputs through the infotainment fascia controls, fade and/or balance.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Verify no other speaker related DTCs are set as current.
  2. Ignition OFF, wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Using the scan tool, select the DTC display function. Verify that DTC B1025 is set as current.
  4. Disconnect the telematics control module electrical connector.
  5. If the DTC is set as current, test the left front speaker output (+) circuit for a short to ground, short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
  6. Test the left front speaker output (-) circuit for a short to ground, short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
  7. If the vehicle is equipped with Assist Ultra, test the front centre speaker output (+) circuit for a short to ground, short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
  8. If the vehicle is equipped with Assist Ultra, test the front centre speaker output (-) circuit for a short to ground, short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
  9. If all circuits test normal, replace the telematics module.
