Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement 3.6L Engine LHD
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Important: With the ignition OFF and the brakes cool,
apply the brakes 3-5 times, or until the brake pedal becomes firm, in
order to deplete the vacuum brake booster power reserve.
- Deplete the vacuum brake booster power reserve.
- Remove the engine dress cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (4) at the vacuum brake
booster (2) end and slide 50 mm (2 in) along the vacuum hose (1).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (1) and the vacuum brake booster check
valve (3) from vacuum brake booster (2).
- Detach the vacuum hose (1) from the bulkhead mounted vacuum hose
retaining bracket (5).
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) at the intake manifold vacuum
port (3) and slide 50 mm (2 in) along the vacuum hose (1).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (1) from the intake manifold vacuum
port (3).
- Remove the vacuum brake booster check valve (1)
from the vacuum hose (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the vacuum brake booster check valve (1)
to the vacuum hose (2).
- Install the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) to the correct location on
the vacuum hose (1) to secure the vacuum brake booster check valve (3).
- Connect the vacuum hose (1) to the intake manifold vacuum port (3).
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) and slide along the
vacuum hose (1) to the correct location, to secure the vacuum hose (1)
to the intake manifold vacuum port (3)
- Connect the vacuum hose (1) and vacuum brake booster check valve (3)
to vacuum brake booster (2).
Important: Make sure the vacuum hose (1) is not
twisted. Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (4) and rotate the vacuum
brake booster check valve (3) as required.
- Attach the vacuum hose (1) to the bulkhead mounted vacuum hose retaining
bracket (5).
- Install the engine dress cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement 6.0L Engine LHD
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Important: With the ignition OFF and the brakes cool,
apply the brakes 3-5 times, or until the brake pedal becomes firm, in
order to deplete the vacuum brake booster power reserve.
- Deplete the vacuum brake booster power reserve.
- Remove the engine dress cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (4) at the vacuum brake
booster (2) end and slide 50 mm (2 in) back along the vacuum
hose (3).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (1) and the vacuum brake booster check
valve (3) from vacuum brake booster (2).
- Detach the vacuum hose (1) from the bulkhead mounted vacuum hose
retaining bracket (5)
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2)
at the intake manifold vacuum port (1) and slide 50 mm (2 in)
back along the vacuum hose (3).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (3) from the intake manifold vacuum
port (1).
- Remove the vacuum brake booster check valve (1)
from the vacuum hose (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the vacuum brake booster check valve (2)
to the vacuum hose (1).
- Install the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) to the correct location on
the vacuum hose (1) to secure the vacuum brake booster check valve (3).
- Connect the vacuum hose (3) to the
intake manifold vacuum port (1).
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) and slide along the
vacuum hose (3) to the correct location to secure the vacuum hose (3)
to the intake manifold vacuum port (1).
- Connect the vacuum hose (1) and vacuum
brake booster check valve (4) to vacuum brake booster (2).
Important: Make sure the vacuum hose (1) is not
twisted. Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (4) and rotate the vacuum
brake booster check valve (3) as required.
- Attach the vacuum hose (1) to the bulkhead mounted vacuum hose retaining
bracket (4).
- Install the engine dress cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement 3.6L Engine RHD
Removal Procedure

- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) at the intake manifold vacuum
port (3) and slide 50 mm (2 in) along the vacuum hose (1).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (1) from the intake manifold vacuum
port (3).
- Remove the vacuum brake booster check valve (1)
from the vacuum hose (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the vacuum brake booster check valve (1)
to the vacuum hose (2).
- Install the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) to the correct location on
the vacuum hose (1) to secure the vacuum brake booster check valve (3).
- Connect the vacuum hose (1) to the intake manifold vacuum port (3).
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) and slide along the
vacuum hose (1) to the correct location to secure the vacuum hose (1)
to the intake manifold vacuum port (3).
Important: Make sure the vacuum hose (3) is not
twisted. Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (1) and rotate the vacuum
brake booster check valve (5) as required.
- Connect the vacuum hose (3) and vacuum brake booster check valve (5)
to vacuum brake booster (2).
- Attach the vacuum hose (3) to the bulkhead mounted vacuum hose
retaining bracket (4).
- Install the engine dress cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement 6.0L Engine RHD
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Important: With the ignition OFF and the brakes cool,
apply the brakes 3-5 times, or until the brake pedal becomes firm, in
order to deplete the vacuum brake booster power reserve.
- Deplete the vacuum brake booster power reserve.
- Remove the engine dress cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (1) at the vacuum brake
booster (2) end and slide 50 mm (2 in) back along the vacuum
hose (3).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (3) and the vacuum brake booster check
valve (5) from vacuum brake booster (2).
- Detach the vacuum hose (3) from the bulkhead mounted vacuum hose
retaining bracket (4)
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2)
at the intake manifold vacuum port (1) and slide 50 mm (2 in)
back along the vacuum hose (3).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (3) from the intake manifold vacuum
port (1).
- Remove the vacuum brake booster check valve (1)
from the vacuum hose (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the vacuum brake booster check valve (2)
to the vacuum hose (1).
- Install the vacuum hose retaining clamp (1) to the correct location on
the vacuum hose (2) to secure the vacuum brake booster check valve (3).
- Connect the vacuum hose (3) to the
intake manifold vacuum port (1).
- Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (2) and slide along the
vacuum hose (3) to the correct location to secure the vacuum hose (3)
to the intake manifold vacuum port (1).
Important: Make sure the vacuum hose (3) is not
twisted. Compress the vacuum hose retaining clamp (1) and rotate the vacuum
brake booster check valve (5) as required.
- Connect the vacuum hose (3) and vacuum brake booster check valve (5)
to vacuum brake booster (2).
- Attach the vacuum hose (3) to the bulkhead mounted vacuum hose
retaining bracket (4).
- Install the engine dress cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
