Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

    2. Object Number: 1956946 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the reverse lamp switch electrical connector (3).
  3. Using a suitable tool remove the reverse lamp switch (2) from the transmission (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1956946 Size: SH
  1. Apply a suitable pipe sealant with Teflon® to the threads of the backup lamp switch (2).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the backup lamp switch (2) to the transmission (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the switch to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  3. Connect the reverse lamp switch electrical connector (3).
  4. Lower the vehicle.
