The park assist switch is equipped with a light that indicates when the park assist system is enabled or disabled. When the park assist system is enabled the light is turned on.

The object alarm module detects a malfunction with the park assist switch light.

Park brake OFF, transmission in REVERSE, the park assist switch light should turn on.

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the park assist switch.
2. Test for less than 5 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 8 and ground.

⇒	If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the object alarm module.

3. Ignition ON, transmission in REVERSE, test for 1.7 - 3.3 V between the voltage reference circuit terminal 7 and ground.

⇒	If greater than the specified range, test the voltage reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the body control module.

⇒	If less than the specified range, test the voltage reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the body control module.

4. If the circuit tests normal, replace the park assist switch.
