Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information, prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

The telematics module is connected to the drivers side radio speaker via an internal relay. When the Emergency, Holden Assist or Information/End Call button is pressed, the telematics module sends a signal to the infotainment unit via the auxiliary Infotainment unit inputs selected with the aid of the radio mute line. The Infotainment unit will then mute the radio and allow only the telematics audio and tones to sound through the speaker.
The radio mute output circuit has a malfunction.
This code shall set as current when the telematics module detects the radio mute output circuit is short to ground, battery or is over loaded.
• | The telematics module sets a DTC. |
• | The telematics module commands the red LED ON. |
• | The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present. |
• | The history DTC will clear after 50 fault-free ignition cycles. |
• | The DTC can be cleared using a scan tool. |

• | Wiring Repairs . |
⇒ | If DTC B1287 is historical, Clear the DTC. |
⇒ | If the infotainment unit is not functioning correctly, refer to infotainment unit system diagnostics. |
⇒ | If all circuits do not test normal, repair or replace the affected circuit(s). |
Important: Other infotainment related DTC's will set when the infotainment unit is disconnected.
⇒ | If the DTC is still current, replace the telematics module. |
⇒ | If the DTC is not current, replace the infotainment unit. |
