Remote Control Door Lock Receiver and Theft Deterrent Module Replacement Sedan

1. Remove the rear window shelf. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.



2. Disconnect the remote function actuator (RFA) (1) electrical connector (2).

Notice: Refer to General Repair Instructions in the Preface section.




3. Remove the RFA by releasing the two retaining tangs (1) and removing it from the rear window shelf.

1. Install the RFA by inserting the retaining tang (1) first and snap fitting the other two retaining tangs (2) listen for an audible click to confirm fitting.



2. Connect the RFA (1) electrical connector (2).
3. Install the rear window shelf. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
4. Program the RFA. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver and Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup.
5. Operate the keyless entry for correct operation.

Remote Control Door Lock Receiver and Theft Deterrent Module Replacement Sportwagon

1. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement.



2. Disconnect the remote function actuator (RFA) electrical connector (1) from the RFA module (2).



3. Apply suitable pressure to the RFA module retainers (3) and disengage the RFA module (2) from the roof mounting (1).
4. Pivot the RFA module (2) down to disengage the RFA module retainer (4) from the roof mounting (1).
5. Remove the RFA module (2) from the vehicle.

1. Install the RFA module retainer (4) to the roof mounting (1).

Important: Listen for an audible click to confirm correct installation of the RFA module (2).

2. Pivot the RFA module (2) upward and apply suitable upward pressure. Make sure that the RFA module retainers (3) engage into the roof mounting (1).



3. Connect the RFA electrical connector (1) to the RFA module (2).
4. Program the RFA module (2). Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver and Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup.
5. Operate the keyless entry to confirm correct operation.
6. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement.
