Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement RHD

1. Remove the oil level indicator (1) from the oil level indicator tube (3).
2. Remove the oil level indicator tube bracket to cylinder head retaining bolt (2).
3. Remove the oil lever indicator tube (3) from the engine.




Important: Inspect the O-ring seal for cuts or damage. The O-ring seal may be re-used if not cut or damaged.

Important: If the oil level indicator tube is not to be reinstalled immediately, plug the opening to prevent dirt entry.

4. Remove and discard the O-ring (1) from the oil level indicator tube (2) if damaged.

Important: Fitment of a new O-ring is only necessary if the old O-ring is damaged

1. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.



2. Install the oil level indicator tube (3) into the cylinder block until the collar is flush with the engine block.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the oil level indicator tube to cylinder head retaining bolt (2).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 Ib ft).

4. Install the oil level indicator (1) to the oil level indicator tube.
