Electronic Navigation Antenna Replacement RHD

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the windshield demister grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) outer trim cover. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

    3. Object Number: 1957964 Size: SH
  3. Grasp the I/P insulation panel assembly (1) and carefully pull downward to disengage the retaining clips.
  4. Remove the courtesy lamp socket  (2) from the I/P insulation panel assembly (1) by rotating counter-clockwise.
  5. Disconnect the navigation interface module (NIM) electrical connector (3).
  6. Remove the I/P insulation panel assembly (1).

  7. Remove the I/P compartment lower retaining screws (1).
  8. Open the I/P compartment door (2).

  9. Remove the I/P compartment retaining screw covers (1) from the I/P compartment (2)

    10. Object Number: 1957966 Size: SH
  10. Remove the I/P compartment upper retaining screws (1).
  11. Detach the I/P compartment (2) from the I/P.

  12. Disconnect the I/P compartment electrical connector (1).

    13. Object Number: 1957980 Size: SH
  13. Rotate the navigation module aerial connector lock (1) clockwise and disconnect the navigation module aerial connector (2).

  14. Detach the GPS antenna cable retaining clips (2) from the I/P.

    15. Important: The GPS antenna (1) is secured in position with double sided tape.

  15. Detach the GPS antenna (1) from the I/P.
  16. Pull the GPS antenna cable through the hole (3) in the I/P and remove the GPS antenna (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1957972 Size: SH

    Important: The GPS antenna (1) is secured in position with double sided tape.

  1. Install the GPS antenna (1) to the I/P.
  2. Feed the GPS antenna cable through the hole (3) in the I/P.
  3. Install the GPS antenna cable retaining clips (2) to the I/P.

  4. Connect the navigation module aerial connector (2) and rotate the navigation module aerial connector lock (1) counter-clockwise.

    5. Object Number: 1957979 Size: SH
  5. Connect the I/P compartment electrical connector (1).

    6. Object Number: 1957966 Size: SH
  6. Install the I/P compartment (2) to the I/P.

    7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the I/P compartment upper retaining screws (1).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2  N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the I/P compartment retaining screw covers (1) into the I/P compartment (2).

    9. Object Number: 1957057 Size: SH
  9. Close the I/P compartment door (2).
  10. Install the I/P compartment lower retaining screws (1).

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2  N·m (18 lb in).

  11. Install the courtesy lamp socket  (2) to the I/P insulation panel assembly (1) by rotating clockwise.
  12. Connect the NIM electrical connector (3).
  13. Install the I/P insulation panel assembly (1) to the I/P by engaging the retaining clips.
  14. Make sure all the clips are located correctly.
  15. Install the I/P outer trim cover. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  16. Install the windshield demister grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
