Removal Procedure

    Important:  When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Support the endgate with a suitable brace.

    2. Object Number: 2017363 Size: SH
  2. Remove the endgate cable to endgate retaining screw (3).
  3. Remove the endgate cable (2) from the endgate (1) and position aside.

    4. Object Number: 2007994 Size: SH

    Important: Take note of original latch striker position.

  4. Remove the endgate cable to endgate latch striker retaining screw (1).
  5. Remove the endgate cable (3) from the endgate latch (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2007994 Size: SH

    Important: Make sure that the endgate latch striker aligns to its original position.

  1. Install the endgate cable (3) to the endgate latch (2).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the endgate cable to endgate latch retaining screw (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the endgate cable (2) to the endgate (1).

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the endgate cable to endgate retaining screw (3).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Remove the support from the endgate.
