Front-to-Rear, Side-to-Side
  1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  2. Remove the endgate liner. Refer to Pickup Box Endgate Liner Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 2007987 Size: SH
  3. Loosen the endgate hinge to endgate retaining bolts (1). Repeat for opposite side.

    4. Object Number: 2037779 Size: SH
  4. Loosen the endgate hinge to body retaining bolts (1). Repeat for opposite side.

    5. Object Number: 2007989 Size: SH
  5. Align the endgate in order to achieve an equal gap of 2.25 to 3.75 mm (0.9 to 015 in) (A) around the endgate to the rear quarter panels.

    6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Tighten the endgate hinge to endgate retaining bolts (1). Repeat for opposite side.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  7. Tighten the endgate hinge to body retaining bolts (1). Repeat for opposite side.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  8. Loosen the endgate latch striker to body retaining screws (1), repeat for opposite side.
  9. Adjust the endgate front-to-rear (flushness) position with the position of the endgate striker (2).
  10. Tighten the endgate latch striker to body retaining screws (1).

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the endgate liner. Refer to Pickup Box Endgate Liner Replacement .
  12. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

Up and Down Adjustment

  1. Remove the endgate liner. Refer to Pickup Box Endgate Liner Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 2007987 Size: SH
  2. Loosen the endgate hinge to endgate retaining bolts (1). Repeat for opposite side.

    3. Object Number: 2007990 Size: SH
  3. Align the endgate in order to achieve an equal gap of 5 to 7 mm (0.2 to 0.28 in) (A) from the endgate to the rear bumper fascia.

    4. Object Number: 2007987 Size: SH
  4. Tighten the endgate hinge to endgate retaining bolts (1). Repeat for opposite side.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft)


    Object Number: 2024492 Size: SH
  5. Loosen the endgate latch striker to body retaining screws (1), repeat for opposite side.
  6. Adjust the endgate front-to-rear (flushness) position with the position of the endgate striker (2).

    7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Tighten the endgate latch striker to body retaining screws (1).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the endgate liner. Refer to Pickup Box Endgate Liner Replacement .
