Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the engine oil from the engine crankcase.
  3. Remove the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1491140 Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil pan flange-to-transaxle retaining bolts.

    5. Object Number: 1491144 Size: SH
  5. Remove the transaxle-to-oil pan flange retaining bolts.

    6. Object Number: 1491149 Size: SH
  6. Remove the transaxle rear mount bracket.

    7. Object Number: 1491157 Size: SH
  7. Remove the lower reaction rod.

    8. Object Number: 1491159 Size: SH
  8. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1491159 Size: SH
  1. Coat the new oil pan gasket with sealant.

    2. Important: Install the oil pan within 5 minutes after applying the liquid gasket to the oil pan.

  2. Install the oil pan to the engine block.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the oil pan retaining bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the oil pan flange-to-transaxle retaining bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan flange-to-transaxle retaining bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the transaxle-to-oil pan flange retaining bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle-to-oil pan flange retaining bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  6. Install the transaxle rear mount bracket.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle rear mount bracket retaining bolts to 62 N·m (45 lb ft).

  7. Install the lower reaction rod.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the lower reaction rod retaining bolts to 69 N·m (49 lb ft).

  8. Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Front Pipe Replacement .
  9. Install the oil pan drain plug.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  10. Refill the engine crankcase with engine oil.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
